FGUP «RNII KP» LAUNCHED NANOSATELLITE WITH EMBEDDED GLOBALSTAR
SATELLITE MODEM FOR THE «NANOSATELLITE -
GROUND CONTROL CENTER» DATA LINK
FGUP «Russian Scientific Research Institute Of Space Instrument» (RNII KP, Moscow)
has successfully completed project of the nanosatelite with built-in Globalstar
GSP1620 satellite modem that was launched manually from ISS by cosmonaut Salidjanov.
In future nanosatellites will be used for scientific purposes to measure Earth magnetism,
Ozon and other phisical research.
The nanosatellite's task is testing of the «nanosatellite - ground control center»
data link by using the Globalstar data link. The onboard Globalstar modem is activated
in the Russian segment of the Globalstar system by national operator CJSC GlobalTel.
The first successful «nanosatellite - ground mission control center» communication
call took place over the South American Globalstar Gateway.
We congratulate all participants of the project on their success!
