GlobalTel experts have upgraded and tested the asynchronous data service for Telit SAT551 car kits and SAT 550 X/XF marine kits. The asynchronous data service, Internet access and the whole spectrum of data services offered by CJSC GlobalTel are ensured through the DT 550 adapter, which is connected to the PC either through the car kit external connector or directly to the SAT 550 UT through its standard connector.

All those wishing to purchase the car kit or the marine kit with data capabilities should contact the Sales department (phone (095 or 501) 797-2624) or Customer-Care Center (phone (095 or 501) 797-2727).

In the event you have purchased such kits together with DT 550 adapter and now you would like to get data services through these facilities, please fill in the upgrade application and send to the CJSC GlobalTel Service Center the car /marine kit UT cradle (the cradle removal does not break warranty obligations) and the DT550 data adapter. If you have no adapter you can purchase it in our Sales department.

When the Sales department receives the UT cradle and DT adapter, our experts will check them, upgrade and test at the Service Center stands in the real data transmission mode and voice mode.

On the basis of the information stated in the Upgrade Application the subscriber will be invoiced for the equipment upgrade (the price is 35 conditional units) and return transportation.

After the invoice payment is confirmed the equipment shall be sent back to the subscriber.

Please note that only the latest 5.3.1.p software release supports the data services on Telit UTs. In order to ascertain what release you are having you should enter your Telit SAT 550 UT Menu using the combination of "M-6-3" keys and read the information displayed in line G*.

It should also be noted that when using the upgraded Telit SAT550 UT, SAT551 X/XF UT and DT550 jointly with controller (with embedded GPS-receiver) you can observe on the pre-programmed supervisory console the position location motion path of the mobile asset in the asynchronous data mode or through SMS exchange. The abovementioned UTs and DT550 adapter act as a GSM modem in cellular monitoring and supervisory systems.
