On October 17-19, 2002 a branch exhibition "Russia's Roads - 21 Century" was held in the city of Nizhny Novgorod. The exhibition was held during All-Russia's Day of Road Workers and organized by "Informavtodor" company. Minister of Transportation Mr. S. Frank and First Deputy Minister of Transportation Mr. I. Sliuniaev attended the exhibition.

That is the second time CJSC GlobalTel participates in that exhibition. Last year the company's task was to demonstrate to customers unlimited possibilities of the Globalstar satellite communication service. This year the exposition was focused on creation of the field operational points during highway construction works and use of Globalstar equipment in emergency situations.

Within the framework of the "Russia's Roads - 21 Century" exhibition jointly with the Russia's Highway Association there was held a round-table discussion "Development of Information and Telecommunications Technologies and Communication Systems in Road Construction and Maintenance in Russia". CJSC GlobalTel took an active part in it. The company's experts made a presentation on the use of operational communication means based on Globalstar satellite system in construction and maintenance of highways in remote areas of Russia. The issues of mobile public telephones installations and of providing operational communication to roadmen teams and contractors were discussed.

The experience of using mobile satellite terminals in road construction and repair, especially in rescue and recovery works in force majeur situations, confirmed the need of Globalstar service in the road construction and maintenance industry.
