On September 17-20, 2002 the Forum on Communications and Security
was held in Novosibirsk. It included the 10-th International Specialized
Exhibitions of Telecommunications Facilities, and Information Technologies
SIBSVIAZ-2002, 4-th Specialized Exhibition of Internet Equipment, Technologies
and Services, 1-st Specialised Exhibition of Electronic Elements and Manufacturing
Equipment ELECTRONSIB-2002, 11-th Exhibition of Telecommunication Equipment, Protection
and Security Facilities, Survival Equipment, Recovery Aids, Systems and
Overalls -SIBSECURITY -ANTITERRORISM -SPASSIB - 2002.
More than 18 thousand residents and guests of Novosibirsk visited the
"Siberian Fair" Exhibition pavilion during the Forum. CJSC GlobalTel's partners
"FGUP NPP RADIOSVIAZ" and Siberian Research Center of the Air Traffic Department
SAAS demonstrated on their stand equipment for searching wrecked transportation
facilities and people in northern latitudes. The integrated air traffic control
system GLONASS/GPS/GLOBALSTAR/APK on the basis of the MRK-18AM and MRk-22M satellite
integrated navigation receivers designed for high-accuracy automatic position location
of the aircraft, its speed and other flight parameters determination were displayed at
the Forum. The software allows obtaining full route information in digital and graphic
forms. It also provides the mode of changing the route from the flight control center
or from the regional air traffic center as well as the varied mode. The information
exchange between these points and MRK is conducted through data channels of the Globalstar
satellite communications system, and Russia's CJSC GlobalTel is its exclusive
service provider.
At variance with currently operating satellite navigation receiver,
the MRK-18AM and MRK-22M possess additional features for aircraft
navigation support and organization of air traffic in high altitudes and allow:
- Latitude, longitude and altitude location;
- Displaying the destination point with its azimuth and distance;
- Determination of true and magnetic heading, ground speed, pitching, turn and angle of drift;
- Determination of the estimated flight and arrival times;
- Date and time indication;
- Aircraft route deviation indication;
- Formation of flight routes;
- Automatic data communication through Globalstar channels;
- Air control point and the crew voice communication;
- Phone and fax services, e-mail and Internet access to passengers on board.
RS-232 and RS-422 input-output ports allow data exchange with any external facilities.
The Forum on Communication and Security completed its work with the traditional
"Siberian Fair Gold Medal" contest. "FGUP NPP RADIOSVIAZ" and Siberian Research Center
of the Air Traffic Department SAAS (Krasnoiarsk) were awarded with the
Grand Gold medal
and the Diploma in the "Security Facilities and Recovery Aids" nomination for development
and creation of the MRK-18Am and MRK-22M GLONASS/GPS/GLOBALSTAR/APK integrated satellite
navigation receivers.
