All Globalstar UT users including all roamers have a free Internet access from 1 April 2002!
Globaltel has started this service under "Mobile Internet 123" brand free for all Globalstar
users.
Now Internet access is easy as to count "one-two-three". Internet access is available
independent of the user location, in a moving car, a plane, a train, or a ship/boat.
One needs only to connect the UT to a computer COM port as a standard telephone modem
19.2k and to dial-up "123" number. No need to remember passwords, pay to local ISPs.
One…two….three… and you are in Internet, paying for the traffic only.
Internet access over the Globalstar system provided directly to the fiber optic Internet
backbone of Rostelecom that ensures the highest quality connection.
Those who use iPass global Internet access service or similar can switch to Globalstar
Mobile Internet service obtaining the same opportunities plus mobile access on top
of it.
This service makes it possible for AMPS operators to offer 3-mode Qualcomm UtsGSP1600
with separate AMPS and Globalstar numbers together with mobile internet access package
over the whole Globaltel service area.
In the nearest future same service will be available for Telit SAT550 and 600 Globaltel
subscribers. Roamers with SAT550 and SAT600 with S/W version with Async Data can use this
service already now.

CJSC GlobalTel is the exclusive service provider of the Globalstar global mobile
satellite communications system in Russia. The founders of GlobalTel are OJSC
Rostelecom and Globalstar L.P. In May 1997 Globalstar L.P. and GlobalTel signed an
agreement, which granted GlobalTel the exclusive rights to provide Globalstar services
on the territory of the Russian Federation. Globalstar services have been provided in
Russia since October 2000.
